ABOUT MANOR FARM

WHY ARE WE DIFFERENT?

The family environment is the key: guests are welcomed into our home and quickly become valued members of the household.

Manor Farm offers a uniquely supportive and sympathetic environment, coupled with an intensely personalised service. The relatively small numbers of guests enables us to cater to the emotional needs of each individual.

We also encourage guests to bring a relative, carer or travelling companion when they come and stay. Where mental illness is concerned, relationships are often stretched to the limit and the environment here certainly helps to break negative patterns of relating.

Our home and our years of experience provide an atmosphere in which these strained relationships can be strengthened and understandings can be restored. The fact that you share our home with us and our family we see as uniquely positive.

We seek to encourage the idea of each individual being accepted into a social situation - the mentally ill (and sometimes their families or carers) often suffer feelings of isolation - here they will be a valued addition to an on-going household. This is a place of nurturing and growth.

Esther, Andrew and their young family are offering short breaks at Manor Farm; the full-board packages leave you with nothing to worry about, and more time to relax and enjoy yourselves.

All meals are provided by us, home-cooked on the Aga, and where possible we use organic home-grown or locally grown produce. The evening meal is eaten together and is always a lively event! Click here for a look at a sample menu.
